the really obvious question here is: Why did Thor get to play Freya? The whole joke of the myth is clearly that Thor is much too big and manly to be Freya, but Loki is hanging out with him the entire time - shapeshifted into a perfectly acceptable service-maid so here’s my list of acceptable interpretations:

a) Freya is ripped. Skadi once saw her in the shower and saw that Freya had an eight-pack. That Freya is shredded. (The Jötnar didn’t know because they only knew her as a kid before she started going to the gym twice a week so they were confused)

b) Heimdall and Freya, watching Thor eat an entire ox while Loki is emptying his fourth horn of Tequila Sunrise for the morning (that’s why it’s a sunrise after all) and arguing with a bush about how hard it is to get a horse to pay child support: “So…you’re saying my reputation depends on one of these two?”

c) Heimdall, Freya, Loki and the squad of goddesses watching Thor struggle with a garter-belt:

Loki: “You all remember that I’m a shapeshifter, yeah?”

Freya: “Yes.”

Loki: “And that I could easily make a more convincing Freya?”

Heimdall: “Yes.”

Loki: “So why don’t I get to play…”

*Thor falls over in his heels and punches a shelf in frustration*

Loki: “ok I get it.”
